Your First Reformer Pilates Class — What to Expect in Doral

Your first Reformer Pilates class can feel intimidating — sliding carriage, springs, straps, and a room full of equipment you've never touched. Here's the honest truth: most people in our Doral studio were exactly where you are once. And with classes capped at 8, you'll never be lost in a crowd.

Before You Arrive

  • Wear fitted, comfortable clothing — leggings or shorts and a top that stays put during movement
  • Bring grip socks — required for safety on the Reformer (we sell them at the studio if you forget)
  • Arrive 10–15 minutes early so we can learn about any injuries or goals and show you the equipment
  • Skip heavy meals 1–2 hours before class — you'll be moving through core-focused work

The 50-Minute Flow

A typical group Reformer class at Enzo Maverick follows this rhythm:

  1. Warm-up — breath work and gentle mobility on the Reformer
  2. Core sequence — controlled movements targeting abs, back, and hips
  3. Full-body work — arms, legs, and glutes using springs for resistance
  4. Cool-down — stretching and a final check-in with your instructor

Your instructor demonstrates every exercise and offers modifications. If something doesn't feel right, say so — that's what small classes are for.
